Color grading is the process of improving the appearance of an image for presentation in different environments on different devices. Various attributes of an image such as contrast, color, saturation, detail, black level, and white point may be enhanced. Color grading (or color correction) is artistic color effects through creative blending and compositing of different images.
Primary color grading is used to monitor the color density of various color frames (such as blue, red, and so on) around the entire frame.
Alterations of hue, contrast, and brightness are made on a selected portion of a screen in secondary color correction.
These days, color grading is done digitally with an ambiance of controlled lighting to ensure the best results. These rooms with dim light environments where color grading is done during the post-production of a video are known as a color suite.
